WHO I AM:

I am a single childfree female living in the UK, that's the boring part over with. You may call me Metara :) In real life I am a trainee boatbuilder: I am currently working towards an NVQ II qualification in boatbuilding and fitting out. I'm also studying to become a certified Day Skipper in my spare time, which means I will be able to pilot small commercial vessels.

I write videogame based fanfiction, which automatically makes me a loser, and I draw videogame fanart, which is even worse.

The first picture I made was in 2003 and it was a comic cover for a Sonic the Hedgehog fan comic made by a friend of mine, TcmSonic. Sonic V has since, sadly, died. I have drawn on and off since then and - I hope - have steadily improved despite many long breaks from art :P

I use a Wacom Intuos with a variety of software including Photoshop 5.0, Corel Painter IX.5 and MS Paint. Currently I am most interested in learning to draw accurately from life. Everything I do is self taught. I regret very much that I never had any formal art training.

Fun fact: I am the only person in the world who still does not have a LiveJournal.
